Global oceans

This case study will encompass all of the regions above and will use all available EO and in situ data with the maximum coverage that the available in situ data allow.

This analysis will provide globally applicable algorithms and global estimates of the data product uncertainties. This in turn will allow the outputs from the novel algorithms to be compared directly with the outputs from global scale climate models including those used by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) within the 5^th Climate Model Inter-comparison Project (CMIP5).

Such comparisons are key if the novel EO products from Pathfinders-OA are to be exploited by climate modellers.
